RC Suspension Geometry Visualizer

Use this interactive tool to visualize how suspension pickup point changes affect upper and lower arm angles, instant center, and roll center on an RC car. Adjust the sliders to see how geometry changes affect the suspension in real time.

Pink = upper arm Blue = lower arm Green = contact patch → IC Gold = RC
CENTERLINE GROUND CHASSIS ROLL CENTER

Quick Guide

  • Upper Inner / Outer changes the upper arm angle.
  • Lower Inner / Outer changes the lower arm angle.
  • Pink + blue construction lines meet at the Instant Center (IC).
  • Green line runs from the tire contact patch → IC.
  • Where the green line crosses the centerline is the Roll Center (RC).
  • IC closer = higher RC = less chassis roll.
  • IC farther = lower RC = more chassis roll.
  • Lower arm changes generally have a stronger influence on roll center than equivalent upper arm changes.
  • Upper arm changes generally have a stronger influence on camber gain.

Note: This tool is intended for visualization and educational purposes. Geometry shown is simplified and not based on the exact dimensions of a specific RC chassis. Slider values are relative adjustment points and do not represent actual measurements or shim thickness. Actual roll center and suspension geometry will vary based on vehicle dimensions, ride height, tire diameter, and suspension design.
